Aerogel-based insulating coatings have potential
As an alternative to traditional insulating panels, it may be possible in future to insulate buildings with a few centimetres of high-performance aerogel-based insulating plaster. Current development work is aimed in particular at improving the cost-effectiveness of this type of thermal insulation, for example with a sprayed coating that can be applied at lower cost. A high-performance insulating plaster would have an interesting field of application, particularly for existing buildings.
